Registration Opens For 2025 Relay For Life

Registration is open for the 2025 Relay For Life of Bermuda, themed “Garden of Light,” on May 9-10 to support cancer care and community unity.

A spokesperson said, “Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre is thrilled to announce that registration is now open for the 2025 Relay For Life of Bermuda! This year’s event, themed “Garden of Light,” will take place on May 9-10, 2025, at the North Field, Bermuda National Sports Centre. The event is a cornerstone of Bermuda’s commitment to providing life-saving cancer care while uniting the community in honour, remembrance, and hope.

Join the Garden of Light

“Relay For Life is a unique opportunity to celebrate survivors, support those currently on their cancer journey, and remember loved ones lost. Funds raised ensure that everyone in Bermuda can access cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment services at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, without out-of-pocket expenses.

“Teams are at the heart of Relay For Life. Each team, led by a team captain, works together to fundraise and participate in this inspiring 18-hour event. To help captains lead their teams effectively, Team Captain Meetings will provide guidance on fundraising strategies, event logistics, and team goals. These meetings are open to anyone interested in forming a team.

A Legacy of Community Support

“Relay For Life of Bermuda continues to raise substantial funds each year, with past events generating between $500,000 and $870,000 annually. These funds have allowed Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre to expand services, provide state-of-the-art care, and ensure that uninsured and underinsured individuals have access to the care they need.”

Statement from Liberty Mutual Insurance, Title Sponsor

  • “Liberty Mutual Bermuda is honoured to continue our role as the presenting sponsor of Relay for Life of Bermuda, a commitment we have proudly upheld since the event’s inception 12 years ago. This ongoing partnership embodies our unwavering dedication to the fight against cancer and our commitment to supporting our community.”

Lynne Woolridge, CEO of Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, commented, “Relay For Life Bermuda is a shining example of what we can achieve when we come together as a community. We are deeply grateful to Liberty Mutual Insurance for their support and look forward to another incredible event that inspires hope and unity.”

The spokesperson said, “This year is particularly special as Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre celebrates its 80th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, the “Garden of Light” theme will also feature in the Centre’s first-ever float entry in the Bermuda Heritage Day Parade. Following the parade, the float will be displayed at the Bermuda Society of Arts, allowing the entire community to share in its symbolism and creativity.
