GivingTuesday is a global movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity. First launched in 2012, GivingTuesday is a simple idea to set aside one day of the year to encourage people to do good.
- Why Give to Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre?
Our Centre is participating in GivingTuesday because we care about providing equal access to all of our centre’s services, in particular our Radiation Therapy Unit.
The Radiation Therapy Unit opened in 2017 and is the only health care facility of its kind in Bermuda.
Since opening, we have treated 732 people in Bermuda. 316 of them were either uninsured or underinsured.
Through the generosity of our donors, we are able to provide this life saving treatment with 0$ copay, regardless of a client’s health insurance coverage or ability to pay.
This means that we are breaking down barriers to cancer healthcare in Bermuda. And we cannot do it without our donors.
