Why am I doing this?

My name is Victoria Eldridge and I am a second-year university student currently studying abroad in Argentina. This year in February, I decided to shave my head not only in recognition of those fighting cancer, but also as a reminder to girls that true beauty is not skin-deep. Every girl has talents and skills that go beyond their appearances that they can offer to the world. Even though I have never run a marathon, I have chosen to run May 24th for all the women fighting the good fight. Cancer has affected many of my family members, including my grandmother and great-grandmother, who have passed, my grandmother here in Bermuda, as well as my Mom, all of whom have battled with breast cancer. My goal of $3,000 will go towards early cancer detection and education. Please support me as I try to spread awareness, especially to young girls, that they may be able to protect themselves against breast cancer.
