In response to an inquiry from The Royal Gazette re: The appointment of oncology nurses at BHB
Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre (BCHC) welcomes the Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB)'s announcement that chemotherapy nurse recruitment has been successful and that services will be fully restored for all current and new cancer patients this month.
BCHC recognises how difficult the past several weeks have been for patients, families, and the dedicated care teams involved. As a Centre dedicated to cancer care and committed to helping all patients with cancer, we have a clear understanding of how challenging this situation has been. We acknowledge the efforts of BHB’s oncology team in maintaining as much continuity of care as possible and recruiting new resources as quickly as possible during this challenging time.
As an independent, non-profit medical facility, BCHC continues to collaborate with healthcare stakeholders to advance Bermuda’s cancer care system. Guided by the Bermuda National Cancer Control Plan and international best practices, and supported by our radiation therapy alliance with Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center, BCHC remains committed to ensuring all patients have access to timely, high-quality treatment.
