We would like to thank CellOne for supporting Movember 2011 by hosting their “Mauvember” Facebook campaign and donating $855 to help raise awareness of Men's Health in Bermuda.
In November 2011, CellOne invited people to send in pictures of their real – or fake (so females could take part!) moustaches for a chance to win a BlackBerry Bold 9900. At the same time CellOne pledged to donate a $1 for every Facebook fan they had. Thank you to all the Facebook fans who helped CellOne donate $855 to Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre’s Men’s Health Awareness Programmes.
Funds raised by our Movember Fundraising Campaign support the following Men’s Health Initiatives:
Understanding that cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and chronic lung disease are the primary lifestyle related health issues facing men in Bermuda, we encourage all men over the age of 40 who have not seen their physician in over a year, to make an appointment for an annual check-up. If the reason for not seeing one’s physician is financial, due to being uninsured or underinsured, Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre can provide a Men’s Health Voucher (value up to $150) which will subsidise appointments with Island physicians.
