SunSmart Summer Camps
Help Make Your Camp a SunSmart Camp!
Summer day camps offer unforgettable fun, learning, and outdoor adventure—but with all that sunshine comes the need for serious sun protection. Prolonged exposure to the sun can lead to lasting health issues, including sunburn, skin damage, and increased risk of skin cancer, especially for children.
The SunSmart Camp Accreditation Programme is designed to help camps implement simple, effective sun safety strategies—like regular sunscreen use, protective clothing, hydration, and shade breaks—so every camper can enjoy a safe, sunburn-free summer.
By becoming a SunSmart accredited camp, you’re not only protecting children today but helping to build lifelong sun-safe habits. Register your camp now and join a growing community committed to children’s health and wellbeing.
Summer Camp Accreditation Programme 2025
Ensure your camp is SunSmart Accredited and committed to protecting young campers from harmful sun exposure. SunSmart Accreditation is awarded to camps that:
· Demonstrate an understanding of sun-safe behaviours.
· Provide a sun-safe camp experience for all participants.
· Have a written Sun Protection Policy in place.
· Pass a spot check while their camp is in action.
Summer camps play a vital role in protecting our children’s health. Register today and help campers enjoy a safe, fun-filled summer!
Registration opens April 1st and Closes June 12th
